Memorial Bench for Martin

It has been suggested that GALA fund a Memorial Bench in Martins memory. Sam is keen on the idea. The cost is in the region of £400.

GALA now only exists as a web based association and subscriptions are no longer taken. Those of you who have paid subs in the past will know that it was decided to hold onto the existing subscription money in order to run the website. There are ample funds. I am posting this so that anyone who has paid into the funds and does not wish to see some of the funds spent on the Bench can make their objections known. PM or email me.

I have received many emails supporting this idea and also asking as to where the bench will be sited.

The Yard was under lease but Maritn had bought a plot of land at "the far end".
This has yet to be finalised but it looks very much as if another boatbuilding firm---please wait for the official announcement--will take over the yard and that Sam will set up G&L Mk2 on this land. This all at the planning stage.
The bench will be on that land and overlook the Creek.

As an aside; Only the week before his untimely demise, Martin had finished carving a memorial bench for someone. He had remarked upon "what a lovely idea it was"

An excellent idea and thought for Martin's memory. Is there any thoughts of where it ill be sited?
